MODERN SKIN

At your first visit we will discuss pigment color options, what style you are looking for, and we will do a pre-draw of the new shape for your approval before numbing is applied on the area.

Modern Skin is a dually licensed cosmetic tattoo studio. Precise measurements of the face and bone structure are taken during your initial appointment/pre-draw session.

Each new client is given a complimentary touch up session which is scheduled prior to leaving the studio and is usually around 6-8 weeks from the initial appt.

REASONS WE WAIT 6+ WEEKS:

Mainly to allow the skin to heal and regenerate before going over the same area again.

To avoid damage if skin is not fully healed.

To allow the pigment to settle into the new layer of skin after healing.

SESSION TIME:

1st session will take 1.5-2 hours

2nd session will take about 1 hour

REQUIRED MAINTENANCE:

After the first 2 sessions it is recommended to refresh the shape & color every 1-3 years.

If you regularly pluck or wax around the brow area you will still need to do so.

Modern Skin has a deposit policy that is strictly enforced!

In order to hold your booking, a $50 upfront deposit is due within 24 hrs to hold your appointment date/time.

We do not hold credit card information on file so this deposit policy is in place incase of no show appointments.

This deposit is NON REFUNDABLE if you change your mind about having the service done.

Modern Skin allows 1 emergency reschedule that must fall within a 2 week mark of the original appointment or a new deposit will be needed to rebook.

FOR LIPS

Keep lips as moisturized as possible prior to your Lip Blush appointment! Exfoliate using your favorite scrub or make your own scrub simply by using sugar + water at a 75/25 ratio and rub on lips each night leading up to appt (min of 1 night before is fine)

*Please let us know if you are prone to cold sore outbreaks or have had them occur in the past.

Preventative medication is only required for those who normally experience outbreaks or have a history of cold sores.

FOR BROWS

Please refrain from plucking or waxing your brows for as long as you can prior to appointment. Its important to let the hair grow as much as possible, any hair that is outside of the approved brow shape will be cleaned up before your appt is over!

No Henna dye on brow area before appt, tinting the hair is ok and if you normally do tint your hair please let your artist know, we can tint the actual hair before starting your permanent makeup session

FOR BOTH

Clients must stop using retinol prior to appointment as soon as possible as it makes the skin more delicate.

NO asprin or other blood thinning medications prior to appt to avoid excessive bleeding.

NO large amounts of caffeine or alcohol 24 hrs prior to avoid extra pain during service. 1 cup of coffee in the morning is perfectly fine.

All aftercare instructions will be given to each client and discussed in person before leaving the studio.

A few things to be aware of as far as aftercare:

Lip Blush tattoo healing is about 4-5 days

During this time please plan on using a straw when drinking, to keep lips from touching directly.

Stay away from spicy food to avoid burning sensation.

Stay hydrated & keep lips moisturized!

with 4-6 weeks to allow the pigment to settle into a layer of skin before we can fully see what has implanted.

Brow healing time is about 7-10 days

with 6-8 weeks to allow the pigment to settle into a layer of skin before we can fully see what has implanted.

All healing ointment is provided to the client with printed instructions.

No saunas or under water swimming or tanning during 10 day healing period.

Plan on using sunscreen on the brows when outdoors for long periods of time after healing to protect your investment from quicker fading!
